Prior to forming Innoventure Partners, Berman was CEO of D Mobile, a digital content distribution business, where he secured contracts with leaders in their respective markets (Funtalk/Gome/China Unicom in China, Hungama in India/South Asia, Dialog in Sri Lanka). In other C-Suite positions, Berman implemented a product development go-to-market strategy for Monster Cable, as well as helping manage the team in the manufacturing of Beats headsets in China. He has led a myriad of operational departments, from manufacturing and distribution, to marketing and sales for a number of products and companies both in the United States and abroad. In addition, he has engineered significant cost reductions through best-in-class manufacturing and distribution processes and has been at the head of the table when raising capital and selling companies with increased valuations as a result of his leadership.
Another highlight of his career was as Vice President, Strategic Alliances & Business Development for RadioShack Corporation where he identified new markets, formulated strategic alliances, and identified new and transformational technologies in the U.S., Israel, Korea, Europe, China, and Japan. His involvement with Sirius Satellite Radio, iGo, Nextlink, and Valence Semiconductor strengthened RadioShack's position in the marketplace, as did strategic alliances with Motorola, Nokia, Cingular, Monster Cable, Uniden, and Carphone Warehouse.
Andy Cooper draws from more than twenty-eight years of experience in start-up, venture and growth company management, investment banking, and capital markets.
As an entrepreneurially-minded executive, Andy has started, grown, managed and sold companies worth more than $800 Million and raised more than $3 Billion in venture, growth-equity capital and debt for multiple companies. As co-founder and current Managing Partner of Unison Energy and former board member of Aquatic Energy – a biofuel company using algae to produce green diesel and gasoline–Cooper is well versed in furthering innovative bio-technologies. His background includes managing and selling cellular site easements and he has dealt with the largest of investors, including Goldman Sachs, American Tower and Global Tower Partners. Cooper has been a board member of a leading provider of flexible private debt and equity capital to middle-market companies in the U.S. and Canada, has been a Principal of Morgan Stanley Venture Partners and a lead investor for CSG Systems, Protection One Alarm, LionBridge Technologies, and Weblink Wireless.
He is active on multiple boards, including Prospect Capital Corporation, OTR Global Holdings, LLC, and the Madison Square Boys and Girls Club of New York.
As a veteran capital markets professional with expertise covering origination, institutional sales & marketing, relationship management and business development for top-tier financial institutions both domestic and international, Blake Murphy's investment banking experience spans over 30 years of delivering results for clients. His experience extends to securitization, public and private equity, corporate and structured credit and investment banking. He was the Founder and Managing Partner of TAG Access Partners, a capital markets advisory firm and has held senior sales, marketing and business development positions at Lehman Brothers, Bear Stearns & Co., Cohen & Company, and ED&F Man. As Executive Director, he was responsible for creating the U.S. structured products proprietary trading desk at Fortis Bank. In addition, he was global head of sales for structured private placements at Rothschild Inc. and was a founding principal in a specialized merchant banking and structured finance business for the Dutch private bank, Pierson, Heldring & Pierson. He began his Wall Street career at Shearson Lehman American Express in 1982 focusing on tax advantaged limited partnerships and private placements. Prior to Fossil, Doug was part of the Office of the President at PageMart, Inc., where he built a National Retail Business Unit that grew to $84M in five years. While at PageMart, Doug was responsible for $350M in revenues and over 1,350 people, and he took the company public with two other executives in 1996. In addition to his experience at PageMart, Doug has started companies in the office automation, home service and internet security industries.
Doug graduated magna cum laude from Duke University with a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and a Bachelor of Science in Geology. With more than 30 years of experience in technology and communications, Jack Sorci brings to Innoventure Partners extensive direct and indirect executive sales and marketing management expertise, working with both early-stage and mature organizations. Sorci is currently Vice President of Business Development at Radware and working to build Radware’s U.S. Service Provider business. He has also served as Corporate Officer and Senior Vice President of Business Development & Strategic Channels at various organizations, including Genband, Openwave, Goodman Networks and Sylantro Systems. In these roles, Sorci had overall responsibility for sales channel strategy, partnerships, global alliances, and corporate development activity. He secured relationships (strategic OEM and alliances) with Nortel, Alcatel, Nokia-Siemens, IBM, and Sonus. While at Genband, Sorci played a key role in the acquisitions of BayPackets, portions of Siemens’ Switching Products Division, Santera, Tacqua, and VocalData. As Vice President of North America Channels at Alcatel Enterprise, Sorci directed the VOIP PBX entry into the marketplace. While continuing with Alcatel’s Networking division, he became responsible for North America Business Development and Alliances, establishing landmark relationships for Alcatel. These included alliances with Verizon, NextiraOne, IBM and more than 40 Interconnects. As Account Vice President for DSC Corporation, he directed Access and Transmission teams to record growth. Sorci has held critical sales management roles with Teradyne Telecom and Xerox Data Systems. He has been an industry keynote speaker with the International Engineering consortium and has participated on task forces for technology in public education. Sorci was an elected member of a board of education for eight years in suburban Chicago and holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from Northwestern University.
Mahesh Bhalla has worked with large corporations across an 18 year career, and built several successful businesses in India. His expertise lies in new market entries, sustained turnarounds and launching new products & services. Mahesh has worked in areas of General Management and Sales & Marketing across Consumer & Technology industries – Consumer goods (Arvind Mills), IT Peripherals (Samsung Electronics) & Computer Technology (Dell). He is also a certified Black Belt in BPI.In his most recent position at Dell, Mahesh was the Executive Director and General Manager of Dell’s Consumer & SMB business in India. He also served on the Board of Dell India. Mahesh graduated with an Engineering degree from Bangalore University, and has a Post-graduate degree in Business Management from Institute of Management Technology, Ghaziabad.
Michael Tatelman has 30+ years of experience in the high-tech field running multi-billion dollar P&Ls and large scale global marketing organizations. Currently the Chief Marketing Officer for RadioSchack, he most recently served as VP/GM Americas Consumer for Dell. From 2007 thru 2010 he served as VP/GM Global Sales and Marketing for Dell Consumer where he and his team devised and executed a plan to build out over 75,000 retail points of presence resulting in an incremental $8 billion in sales in the first 18 months. This strategy also helped drive the company to #1 market share in India, #2 in China and #1 in the Middle East and Africa. He has also served as Corporate Vice President of Motorola and President of Motorola Asia for the Mobile Device Business based in Beijing, China. Before joining Motorola in 2001, Tatelman served as Senior Vice President of Sales and CMO of Visual Insights, a spin off from Lucent Technologies, specializing in customer and performance analysis software for large internet sites. Prior to this, he served in executive sales and marketing positions with several other venture-backed software companies, Seagate Software Inc. and Comdisco, Inc.
Neeraj Roy is the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Hungama Digital Media Entertainment Pvt. Ltd. Under his leadership, Hungama today is South Asia's largest digital and mobile entertainment company. He is also the Chairman of the Asia Board of the Mobile Entertainment Forum (MEF), and was recently voted amongst the 'Top Ten mobiThinkers' and '50 Most influential People in Mobile Entertainment' globally. Roy was also awarded the Sun Microsystems-Economic Times Young Leader award in 2001 and voted as one of the ‘25 young leaders in the new millennium’ by Business India. He has been nominated for four consecutive years to the list of 'Top 50 Executives in Mobile Content' by ME magazine in the UK. He is also an active speaker at various international forums and on several domestic and international committees advising on the global Mobile Entertainment opportunity.
Ron Garriques is Chief Executive Officer RadioShack. Previously, he was Chief Executive of Gee Beyond Parent, Inc., the owner of a truly disruptive music platform and President, Communication Solutions, for Dell. In this role, he focused on bringing to market connected computing products and services through new channels of distribution, including telecommunications, cable, satellite and others. Before that, he served as President, Consumer, where he was responsible for the Dell portfolio of consumer products, including desktops, laptops, software and peripherals, as well as product design and sales. Prior to joining Dell, Garriques served in various leadership roles at Motorola. He was most recently responsible for the Mobile Devices division. He was also senior vice president and general manager of the Europe, Middle East and Africa regions for Motorola’s Personal Communications Services (PCS) division where he drove sales, customer satisfaction and market share improvements. He also served as senior vice president and general manager of worldwide product line management for PCS. He also formerly held management positions at AT&T Network Systems, Lucent Technologies and Philips Consumer Communications. Garriques earned a master’s degree in business administration from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania, a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from Boston University and a master’s degree in mechanical engineering from Stanford University.
